What is this materia itself?

 

This series has three types of magical materia:

 

• Insense

This is a ritual powder mixed with frankincense designed for burning on charcoal/sand or in any other type of magical or ritual work. And since one of the main words for Aldebaran is abundance, the blend is rich in herbs with different affinities and energy powers. Short presentation.

 

It is with great excitement that I begin this text as this is the second magical operation in the name of and devoted to a fixed star. Aldebaran.

 

And right off the bat I'm starting with complicated stuff, but you know me, I love the details.

 

Fixed stars are especially important in the history of astrology, astronomy, navigation, and folklore of nations. They are called fixed because referred to as wandering are the five planets of the solar system visible to the naked eye plus the Moon and the Sun. The planets in our solar system are the ones dancing along the ecliptic, with rhythmic motion and having studied cycles, and their movement is at the basis of the lore of the Spirit's descent through the seven celestial spheres.

 

Each of them governs a superlunar sphere.

 

In this diagram you can see a medieval image showing the Chaldean order of the planets from the Moon to Saturn, and after Saturn there is a circle in which star symbols are placed. This is the 8th sphere of the Fixed stars according to Ptolemy and Aristotle.

This system also becomes a much exploited metaphor and literary allusion.

 

The fixed stars have served as the basis of a system of transmitted knowledge for navigation on land and water, they have symbolized periods of fertility, hardship, struggles, and depending on their heliacal phase served to create calendars; for economic, religious and political planning.

 

And all this history was to tell you how old the knowledge is and how important the symbolism of the fixed stars is from antiquity to now.

 

 

 

What is the position of Aldebaran and what did we ensoul into this materia series?

 

As of 2024, the fixed star Aldebaran is located at 10 degrees of the tropical sign Gemini, but is of the constellation Taurus and is referred to as the Eye of the Bull.

 

The chart of the creation and consecration of the magical talismanic materia is dated July 3 at 10:25 am in Kazanlak and Burgas.

 

The fixed star Aldebaran in this chart culminates in a conjunction with the MC, Moon and Jupiter. This is a very rare and powerful triple conjunction for magical work, with it all the criteria and requirements of electional astrology for magical rituals and infusing the power of a fixed star into specific objects/materials are met.

 

The rarest event in this case is Aldebaran's conjunction with Jupiter, the greater benefic, that gets illustrated in this world thanks to the Moon, the bringer of all the positives of this event.

 

At the same time, the chart is not just "Aldebaran" but it is Aldebaran in its rising phase or just becoming visible on the eastern horizon before sunrise. But it's not just that, Jupiter is in the same solar phase - visible and eastern (rising before the Sun, which is the strongest heliacal phase for the greater benefic).

A bit of symbolism, folklore and magic.

 

Aldebaran is one of the four royal fixed stars, one of the brightest in the night sky.

Called the Four Royal Stars of Persia, these important celestial bodies were oriented relative to the geographic directions. Regulus is the guardian of the North, Aldebaran of the East, Fomalhaut of the South, and Antares of the West.

 

Aldebaran is also called the Guardian of the East because it is associated with the vernal equinox due to its position in the constellation Taurus. 2,500 years ago, the star was located next to the Sun's turning point, or the vernal equinox itself.

 

Ancient lore attributes great power to Aldebaran when placed in a strong position in natal or in transit charts.

 

All four royal stars of Persia are very influential and each offers the possibility of fame, success or fortune, but only in the case of overcoming difficulties or enemies.

 

In the case of Aldebaran, the challenge is to show integrity and honor. The greatness of this star can be achieved, but integrity and purity of mind will be required. Failure with any fixed star can be very great if the moral foundations are not one's guiding motive, and if we fail this test, Aldebaran can cause the loss of everything.

 

A well-placed Aldebaran brings expansion of property, wealth, favour of the Gods, for its royalty is of such rank that it needs no approval from other than the Deities.

 

The magical talismanic materia "Watcher of the East - Aldebaran" gives us the power for building and establishing, it gives us achievements backed by hard work already put in, but also self-confidence and strenght. A key expression for Aldebaran is the materialisation of one's own realm, building one's own world.

 

The energy of this star is so concentrated, electrifying and inciting that if we have no way to channel it outwards, to vent or be a lightning rod, we can explode.

 

The best way to vent and conduct this power is through precision and truth in deeds.

 

Recklessness and dishonest actions will reverse direction and can do us great harm.

 

For me, Aldebaran's key words are wealth, abundance, achievement, world building, self expression and centralisation. Own your shit. 

 

The magical materia "Watcher of the East - Aldebaran" has the power to materialise what's above, but also to diminish difficult and challenging manifestations since it's consecration chart is so benefic.

 

Jupiter is conjunct Aldebaran in a day chart, finds itself in its terms and in its decan, this is so strong and active that it regulates, improves, develops, gives morality and wisdom to all Aldebaran aspirations.

 

Not just a talismanic materia of achievement, money and fulfillment, but also of nobility, higher values and a bright spirit.

Pendants are created from silver with the same electional chart. They bear the sigil/symbol of Aldebaran and were suffumigated with the Aldebaran incense from Sphere and Sundry.

When to use materia?

 

I recommend the first use when the Moon is at 9˚ degrees of tropical Gemini, where the projection of the fixed star Aldebaran is located.

How to start our relationship with matter and with Aldebaran?

 

I always recommend meditation with materia as a first step that opens our “eyes” to the necessary direction of working with it.

 

This is good to happen when the Moon is conjunct Aldebaran (in the paragraph above you can find out when this happens). But it is not mandatory. Another possible day is Thursday or Monday.

 

Creating a small altar with burgundy-colored cloth/paper - from light to dark, but not bright, red, a candle of a similar color, an image of the constellation, a bowl of meat, cheese, gold jewellery, red wine.

 

From there, trust your own intuition and what you receive as information from the Universe and from the Star itself.

 

The image of the constellation is Taurus - a rushing steam train, and the star itself is the Bull's Eye, so such visualizations are useful or result from the connection with Aldebaran.
