What are the talismans and the materia themselves?

 

This series has several different talismans and epiphenomenona:

• 16 bags with the herb Alchemilla vulgaris, buds from rose damascena and dried rose, sage and fig leaves (to decorate altars, to carry around, to scent a space, to decorate/add to candles for magical effect), the price is 35 lv. per one bag;

Planning of magic

 

This operation has been in draft since February 2024, when I had an "A-HA" moment about a configuration that is happening in May of this year - the two good planets would conjoin in the home of one of them.

 

Since this series involves different type of talismans, communication and organization with the various authors has been very specific.

 

The copper bracelets and linocuts had to be ready in advance to be consecrated along with the other materia on the elected day, May 23, 2024, between 12 and 12:27 pm.

 

For the author of the bracelets, Albena Katanova, appropriate days and times were chosen so that Venus be in super position, as copper is one of the metals that is said to be of the sphere of the planet of love. Of course Jupiter was also actively involved.

 

For Ana Avramova, who created the linocuts, the days and times were chosen not only with good positioning of Venus, but also of Jupiter, as the image includes symbols of both planets. The choice for the subject was made by me based on research and recommendations of the great magical books of the early Arabic Middle Ages, and the creative interpretation is entirely Ana's.

In Ghāyat al-Ḥakīm a.k.a. The Picatrix we read:

"The form of Venus according to the opinion of other sages is the form of a woman with her hair spread, riding on a stag; in her right hand is an apple and in her left hand flowers, and her clothing is colored white."

 

 

Chart of the Consecration ritual

 

In our chart, Venus and Jupiter are in the highest position in the sky on this day - in the 10th house, in exact conjunction by degree, at 29 degrees Taurus. The Ascendant is at 29 degrees Virgo, actively aspecting this conjunction, and the Moon is at 0 degrees Sagittarius, having just "taken" important information from the good-doers and ready to pass it on to the Deities, to Truth, to the Light a.k.a. the Sun. The day is under Jupiter's rulership, the hour - under the Moon's.

 

 

 

 

The purpose of this chart (and ritual on this day and in this hour) is to ensoul the spirit of the rare event in objects and plants that serve to enhance our personal well-being by "showing" or "manifesting" the characteristics of the benefics in the sign of Taurus.

 

The strength of the manifestation of Venus and Jupiter in conjunction depends on the speed of the Moon and her subsequent movements, and she is slow at the time of happening, as is Taurus itself, so the results here will not be express, instantaneous and sudden.

 

The materia and talismans will show a slow, deliberate and gradual action.

 

 

 

What is the symbolism of Venus and Jupiter's conjunction in Taurus?

 

The conjunction in traditional astrology has been seen as much more than an aspect.

 

It was a symbol of the merging of the meanings and spheres of the two planets, and the sign in which this occurred nuanced their manifestations.

 

In the planning process Galya and I had several discussions of the fact that both Venus and Jupiter are too close to the Sun a.k.a "burnt out" or "invisible", but Venus, as Jupiter's host at the chosen time, being in Taurus is in what is called her "Chariot" - this means being in such dignity that the Sun's rays only hide it without destroying its characteristics and abilities.

 

Which, of course, becomes part of the description of the talismans as well - they produce actions and effects slowly but that are also slow, gradually and gradual, deliberately and deliberate, but they stay also invisible to others. This gives them more power to manifest in our personal space, in our own home, in our private and participant-only relationships.

 

This conjunction will not contribute to a TIK-TOK-public relationship followed by many views, it will not make our skills in the  creative fields directly visible to our followers, but it will increase their numbers, help us improve, build, balance, learn and integrate new ways of making art, show us the ways to love, nurture and create children and legacies. And all in our own magical space, without stalkers and gossip.

 

Venus is a planet that in astrology rules the feminine energy, without naming a gender identity, but including the female sex. Very often the descriptions of its spheres include grace, aesthetics, delight, sex, pleasures, satisfaction, fusion, intertwining and reunion, union, friendship, partnership.

 

The star of Aphrodite inspires all kinds of art, the expression of creative potential, creative delight, joy itself.

 

It is also desire, passion, longing, excitement.

 

Vettius Valens (a mathematician and astrologer of the 2nd century AD) in his Anthology describes the nature of Venus as follows: 

"Venus is desire and love. It indicates the mother and nurture. It makes priesthoods, school superintendencies, high offices with the right to wear a gold ring or a crown, cheerfulness, friendship, companionship, the acquisition of property, the purchase of ornaments, agreements on favorable terms, marriages, pure trades, fine voices, a taste for music, sweet singing, beauty, painting, mixing of colors both in embroidery, dyeing, and unguent making. <Venus makes> the inventors and masters of these crafts, as well as craftsmanship or trade, and work in emeralds, precious stones, and ivory."

 

She also supports the buying of property, the increase of possessions, especially expensive, exquisite, fine, beautiful.

 

Venus is also a governess of people seeking purity, people playful and cheerful, working as overseers of markets, serving to nobles, and bringing support from royal women.

 

Of the parts of the body she rules "...neck, face, lips, the sense of smell, the parts of intercourse". 

 

A well-placed Venus in the chart also gives a remarkable reputation.

 

In our election day and time, all these qualities of hers are enhanced, but also merge with those of Jupiter, who is her guest, feels good and is being very well cared for.

 

Again, according to Vettius Valens, Jupiter signifies: "...childbearing, engendering, desire, loves, political ties, acquaintance, friendships with great men, prosperity, salaries, great gifts, an abundance of crops, justice, offices, officeholding, ranks, authority over temples, arbitrations, trusts, inheritance, brotherhood, fellowship, beneficence, the secure possession of goods, relief from troubles, release from bonds, freedom, deposits in trust, money, stewardships."

 

Of the parts of the body Jupiter rules: "the sperm, the uterus, the liver, the parts of the right side."

 

Jupiter is like a magnifying glass and telescope - sees the big picture and Venus enhances the micro level - a super duo.

 
The two planets in conjunction are unifiers, balancers, good friends, support for artists, for love, for grace, for creativity, for fertility.

 

 

About Taurus Valens writes:

 

"This sign is productive of order, earthy, rustic, related to farming, a freedman, downward-trending, with few offspring, semi-vocal and mute, noble, invariable, energetic, unfinished, indicative of estates and possessions. Men born under this sign are noble, energetic, toilsome, good at keeping things, pleasure-loving, music-loving, generous. Some are laborers, propagators, planters. If benefics incline toward this place or if the houseruler is favorably situated, men become priests and school superintendants, as well as those judged worthy of crowns and of the purple, of monuments and statues; also supervisors of temples and distinguished and brilliant individuals."

  

But my favorite Valen's interpretation of the combination between the two planets is:

 

"Jupiter and Venus are good, in harmony, productive of rank and profits, bringing new acquisitions, gifts, adornments, control over slaves, rulerships, the begetting of children, high priesthoods, preeminence among the masses, honors of garlands and gold crowns. These stars make men who are worthy of statues and images, but they also make them subject to ups and downs with respect to marriages and children."

  

 

Tests of the talismans and materia

 

The preview tests are undergoing and the results are so cool. Part of the process itself is the feedback from you - the wearers.

 

Since the chart has a pretty strong fixed energy (Taurus after all), the events and results of it happen very smoothly, with a lot of reflection and synchronicities.

 

My personal experience: at the moment of consecration or the peak of the ritual, I had received a call which turned out to be an invitation to give my first astrological lecture in a great community - ProActive - created by nutritionist Simona Vateva.

 

The conjunction of the two benefic planets, falling in 29 degrees Taurus, makes great aspects to my chart, further enhancing personal effect and productivity.

 

Feedback from others who have tried the copper bracelets and teas is of an improved level of calm, fluidity, delicacy, combined with inspiration and insight about the important material and non-material things in life and daily living; an invitation to re-arranging and renewing the home, creating aesthetic spaces.

 

Each of the different types of talismans is designed to influence with its "general" topics, but also in specific ways due to their different shape and material.

 

1. Copper bracelets and gem necklaces are to be worn, possibly touching the body and the skin, and not to be kept in a pocket/purse. Their purpose is to attune the wearer to Venusian energy, specifically to an experience of deep and consciousness-expanding love, to receive support in any workings affecting aesthetics, cosmetics, art, fertility, love, care, friendship.

   

2. Linocuts are to be placed and decorate rooms and enrich the environment (home/office/etc.). The effects are beneficial not only in the venereal aspects, but also in overall abundance for the space: prosperity, increasing positive energy, improving relationships, creating balance and equilibrium, increasing beauty and financial stability, etc. 

   

3.  The packages of herbs and dried leaves are either to be tea infusions, for consumption or to be put in a purse, to decorate candles you might be making, or to suffumigate with (perhaps with charcoal or on white sand), perhaps in combination with incense. If you choose, you can put them on an altar to Venus and/or Jupiter, or put under a pillow/mattress to contribute to increased libido, harmony in bed, and ... sex.

A very effective way to connect with all the talismans is to meditate for at least 10 minutes with the two planets and their symbols in mind. Also to absorb with your eyes the square of Venus or the square of Jupiter that you see here, as well as the other symbols of the planetary intelligences. There are no best days to wear the talismans - whenever you feel called or need it. Wearing jewelry works with layering - the more you wear it, the more visible the effects will become.
